PILINA (w.t.)
Short documentary in production - Director/Producer/Editor
Three Oregon women - Toni, Louise, and Nohea - each from a different generation, share what it means to reconnect with their Native Hawaiian identity and culture far from the islands. Through ‘ōlelo Hawai‘i (language), oli and hula (chant and dance), and relationship to ‘āina (land), they reflect on disconnection, return, and the everyday practices that make culture alive in the Hawaiian diaspora on the continent.
